Customer background:

A computer company established by Nolan Bushnell in the United States in 1972, an early pioneer of arcade machines, home video game consoles and home computers, and a game console brand that is as famous as Nintendo of Japan at the same time. This Atari VCS is produced by Feixu Electronics (Suzhou). Feixu is a top 20 electronic professional manufacturing service provider in the world, headquartered in Paris, France, and is honored to be the designated antenna supplier of Atari.

Antenna performance requirement:

Indoor WIFI uses hotspot signals, with small attenuation during propagation, longer propagation distance, less interference, good stability, and a signal receiving and transmitting distance of 50M in diameter. Synchronously develop antennas in the initial stage of terminal product design.
Challenge: In order to achieve small attenuation in the propagation process, longer propagation distance, less interference, and good stability, meeting these requirements at the same time will eventually increase the difficulty of the engineer's design.

Problem Description:

WIFI 2.4G band

Advantages: low frequency, small attenuation during transmission, and longer transmission distance; Disadvantages: narrow frequency band, because it shares the 2.4G frequency band with other devices, it is easy to be interfered.

WIFI5G band

Advantages: wide frequency band, low interference, good stability.

Disadvantages: high frequency, large attenuation during propagation, and large coverage.

Solution:

1. Discuss with Atari product design engineers and reach a consensus, adjust the WIFI2.4G antenna to WIFI 2.4G/WIFI 5G dual frequency to solve the shortcomings of single low frequency and single high frequency.

2. The terminal product will simultaneously replace the single low-frequency 2.4G transmitting and receiving module chip with a dual-frequency transmitting and receiving module chip.

3. The customer provides the original product model (including the shell and the finished circuit board), the circuit diagram of all the circuit boards, the mechanical assembly drawing and the material of the plastic shell.

3. According to the above materials, the engineers will simulate the antenna and design the antenna according to the actual environment.

4. Determination of the antenna position and the space given by the structural engineer. For this reason, we define the antenna size as length 31.5*width 10.7MM.

5. The use of the engraving machine allows engineers to greatly shorten the development time, successfully complete the delivery of antenna samples within a week, up to 5.8DB gain and 77% efficiency, to meet all the needs of customers.
